"Great I'm invited...What does that mean?"
This page has been shared with you because your energy is kontagious and we believe KPC will be a great next step for you and our current team to thrive and reach your maximum potential!
Not being your traditional performing arts studio, KPC is very intentional in how we bring in new members, and train our company members. With 95% of KPC members coming from our different community classes it is important that new members have an idea of our teaching style and focuses.
With the amount of time and commitment that is given towards our members, along with the time and commitment our members give to KPC we look for leadership, a growth mindset, drive, and most importantly passion for the performing arts!
If this sounds like you, learn more about our teams below and fill out a "Pre-Registration Form" at the bottom!

What is the difference between Toxik, Kure, Kontagious, and Company?
Company Performance Team
Historically KPC has always been a co-ed group thanks to our company practices which included members from all of KPC's teams. This allowed members of all ages and experiences to dance and grow amongst each other and understand how to support each other through their different struggles. Due to the covid pandemic we had to downsize our practice space which made it impossible to hold company practices with all of our members. Thanks to our new studio in Mountlake Terrace we have officially continued our company team to reset the foundation that KPC was built on! *This team is included with standard company tuition |
Beginning Performance Team
Being our beginning performance team, working on the fundamentals of dance and performance is a must. Toxik focuses on elements of rhythm and counting, retention of choreography, self expression/confidence, and understanding accountability and etiquette as a team member, leader, and performer. These skills set the foundation for members to progress into Kure and Kontagious with the physical and mental skills to be ready for the new challenges and experiences that these teams will bring. |
Intermediate Performance Team
Once having a clear understanding of the fundamentals taught in Toxik, Kure continues to expand on individual accountability, teamwork, leadership, and of course more advanced dance styles and movements. Aside from choreography Kure introduces a larger focus on physical and mental stamina, as well as self realization to understand your strengths and struggles. This allows members to build the confidence to improve and advocate for themselves inside and outside of scheduled team practices. With this self knowledge members should be able to ask the right questions to improve, in doing so they will be able guide themselves through struggles and build experience to guide others through similar challenges when needed. While being on Kure, members should not only become proactive learners but also leaders amongst one another, creating an environment of mutual support, understanding, and growth. |
Open Level/Advanced Performance Team
Members are offered a position on Kontagious once they have consistently shown the technical skill, mindset, and professionalism being taught throughout training with Toxik and Kure. Being an example of these foundations shows that they are ready to continue to learn and grow in the performing arts. Kontagious is centered around self-advocacy and the desire and drive to improve in all areas of dance, music, and art. Our training is focused on continuing to push oneself, build their skills and strengths, and set goals that will prepare them for life and success. These members are offered professional opportunities to express their passions through creating, teaching, and leading. |
What Is Included In My Membership?
Given that we are Kontagious "Performing" Company, you can expect to take part in a many different events with the team throughout the year along with opportunities to showcase your own choreography as a solo or group.
Our performances are not limited to dancing, we have a number of classes and members that focus on other aspects of performance such as singing, instrumental, digital music production, and more that members can perform on stage. Members also have optional training opportunities which which range from weekly classes at our studio, to traveling domestically & internationally for classes and performances. Aside from performances and training, members also have the opportunity to apply for different leadership opportunities such as assisting/teaching for classes and workshops, as well as being a part of the "A-Team" which works directly with KPC's directors to learn skills that they will carry into the professional world. |

What Does The Commitment Look Like For KPC?
|
KPC is involved in many different events and opportunities throughout the year which ensures that members will always have a goal to reach and something to look forward to.
Members are expected to attend all team practices and events within their membership but as you will see below, communication is the key to success! Though we keep our members busy we understand that you will have other commitments such as school, work, sports teams, and of course events with family & friends. With this in mind all that we ask from our members is to communicate their availability so that we can plan for future practices, performances, and events. See our general practice schedule below...
Extra Practice Schedule:
In the event that we need extra practice/rehearsal time before a performance we may schedule an extra practice. Extra practice days are usually scheduled on Friday's after 4:30PM. |

FAQ
Where is the KPC studio located?
Our studio is located in Mountlake Terrace off of 220th St SW., since we are an invite only studio we do not have our studio location directly available online. With our studio being a community space for our members this makes it simple to keep track of who is coming in and out.

Are their other options to continue dancing besides joining one of the teams?
Yes! We specifically created our "Next Step" classes to be an alternative to our performance teams. These classes are great for dancers to continue at a higher level without the extra time commitment the team brings. Find more information HERE.

How soon can I join KPC?
We accept new members year round but with our teams almost reaching maximum capacity we will be starting a wait list to ensure quality training to all of our members. With an average membership duration of 3 to 5 years, once we reach capacity there is no exact wait time for when a spot will open up.

Are performances required?
Though we are a performing company we allow time for members to grow into themselves and build the confidence to perform, we also know that there will be times when not everyone is available. In both of these cases we only ask for communication for the member and parents (if applicable). :)
