This is class is tailored toward dancers with prior dance experience or who have completed one of our introductory class sessions at the Shoreline Spartan Recreation Center or Lynnwood Recreation Center and are ready to continue on from the fundamentals!
Working on new styles, movements, and energies every week this class will help your dancer build confidence, understand self expression, and build community amongst their peers through experiences in class and optional performances at our Spring and Fall Recitals.

Hip Hop Dance (9 to 12 y/o)

Teen Adult Hip Hop (13+ y/o)

High energy and FUN! This slow to medium-paced hip-hop class offers an extensive selection of music and movement that challenges the dancer’s musicality, rhythm, retention, and creativity while executing movements and promoting growth.

Breakdancing Open Level

Balancing structured movement with self exploration and creativity, students will learn about 3 of the 4 elements of Breaking; Up Rock (Top Rock), Down Rock (Foot Work), & Freezes.
Aside from the dance moves and dance style students will also focus on important aspects of Hip Hop culture.
Through Freestyling, Commandos, and Cyphers students will build confidence within themselves, comradery and collaboration amongst their peers, and an overall environment of mutual support during each class session.

Tumbling - Level 1

Enter the world of tumbling and acrobatics in this introductory level class.
Geared towards learning basic tumbling skills as well as drills to improve body control, coordination, strength, and flexibility. Build confidence in movement and learn new skills that can also support your training as a dancer.
No previous tumbling, acrobatic, or gymnastics background needed.
In this class you can expect to learn:
Rolls, Cartwheels, Head and Handstands, Bridge variations, and more.

Tumbling - Level 2

Once you have mastered the basics in Tumble 1, join us for Tumble 2 to continue exploring more advanced skills.
We will continue to refine the basics skills and drills learned in Tumble 1 but the focus shifts to elevating your skills with combinations, rotations, and flight elements.
Completion of introductory skills and feeling comfortable being upside down is highly recommended.

Digital Music Production - Open Level

Turn up the fun and make your own music! In this class, you’ll create awesome beats, record sounds, and mix tracks like a true professional.
We’ll learn skills such as drum programming, vocal recording, and adding special effects. Over time create multiple songs that you'll be able to share with your friends and family!

Fundamentals Of Hip Hop - Open Level

Focusing on the structure of dance and the various styles of Hip Hop this class is great for new dancers who are taking their first steps on the dance floor as well as more seasoned dancers who want to build more knowledge of their body as a dancer.
This class will specifically help with rhythm, coordination, muscle control, interpretation of movement, and freestyling.
You can expect to learn some of the more popular styles and social dances of Hip Hop such as popping, locking, & breakdancing as well as more niche styles like tutting, waving, gliding, and more.

Kontagious Summer Training

Join KPC's advanced performance team "Kontagious" this summer to prepare for your next season of dance!
During each session participants will learn new dances focused around various Hip Hop styles and techniques.
If you are unable to attend every class date you can choose which dates you'd like to attend.
Sessions are held every Sunday at Our Mountlake Terrace Studio from 5PM to 8PM. Class on 7/26/26 will be from 10AM to 1PM. NO CLASSES ON 8/2/26.
We also offer other classes throughout the week if you'd like to focus on other styles and disciplines such as Breakdancing, Ballet, Tumbling, and more!

FAQ
Where is the KPC studio located?
Our studio is located in Mountlake Terrace off of 220th St SW. Since our studio is a shared space for our company members this makes it safe and simple to keep track of who is coming in and out.
Is there a contract for this class?
No, our studio classes provides a more flexible schedule for students who may not be ready for such a large commitment. The only programs that include a contract are our performance teams due to the amount of additional events and performances they take part in and prepare for throughout the year.
When do classes end?
All of our classes run indefinitely throughout the year so that students can continue to improve and build community amongst their peers. It is not uncommon to have students enroll in other programs or travel during the year so if you need to take a break just let us know!
How do we pause or cancel classes? Are there cancellation fees?
We just need a 30 day notice to cancel/pause monthly payments. There are no cancellation fees. :)
How often is tuition charged. What does it cover?
Tuition is charged on the first of every month, and covers 4 to 5 classes (depending on the month) as well as the running costs of the class, any additional opportunities such as recitals are not included in within the monthly tuition.
Is there a recital/show that students work towards in this class?
Yes! We have a recital roughly every 6 months. (our next recital are scheduled for November 15th 2025 and May 16th 2026)
These recitals are optional since students/families pay an additional recital fee. This recital fee ranges from $100 to $120 and covers venue rental and staffing, extra rehearsal time, marketing materials, performance costumes, dinner for the dancers, and more.
