In celebration of our shows The Endemic & The Epidemic during the last week of March we are offering free classes at our studio.
Since many different schools are on break we have extended dance week to dance MONTH all of April!
Dance alongside the dancers you've seen on stage, and be the next person perform with them!
Next Step Beginning & Intermediate Hip Hop
This is class is tailored toward dancers with prior dance experience or who have completed one of our introductory class sessions at the Shoreline Spartan Recreation Center or Lynnwood Recreation Center and are ready to continue on from the fundamentals! Working on new styles, movements, and energies every week this class will help your dancer build confidence, understand self expression, and build community amongst their peers through experiences in class and optional performances at our 2 annual recitals "The Endemic" and "The Epidemic".
Next Step Adult Hip Hop (13+ y/o)
High energy and FUN! This slow to medium-paced hip-hop class offers an extensive selection of music and movement that challenges the dancer’s musicality, rhythm, retention, and creativity while executing movements and promoting growth.
Toxik - Beginning Performance Team
Being our beginning performance team, working on the fundamentals of dance and performance is a must.
Toxik focuses on elements of rhythm and counting, retention of choreography, self expression/confidence, and understanding accountability and etiquette as a team member, leader, and performer.
These skills set the foundation for members to progress into Kure and Kontagious with the physical and mental skills to be ready for the new challenges and experiences that these teams will bring.
Kure - Intermediate Performance Team
Once having a clear understanding of the fundamentals taught in Toxik, Kure continues to expand on individual accountability, teamwork, leadership, and of course more advanced dance styles and movements.
Aside from choreography Kure introduces a larger focus on physical and mental stamina, as well as self realization to understand your strengths and struggles. This allows members to build the confidence to improve and advocate for themselves inside and outside of scheduled team practices.
With this self knowledge members should be able to ask the right questions to improve, in doing so they will be able guide themselves through struggles and build experience to guide others through similar challenges when needed.
While being on Kure, members should not only become proactive learners but also leaders amongst one another, creating an environment of mutual support, understanding, and growth.
Kontagious - Open Level/Advanced Performance Team
Members are offered a position on Kontagious once they have consistently shown the technical skill, mindset, and professionalism being taught throughout training with Toxik and Kure. Being an example of these foundations shows that they are ready to continue to learn and grow in the performing arts.
Kontagious is centered around self-advocacy and the desire and drive to improve in all areas of dance, music, and art.
Our training is focused on continuing to push oneself, build their skills and strengths, and set goals that will prepare them for life and success. These members are offered professional opportunities to express their passions through creating, teaching, and leading.
